The Mission Committee is made up of nominated individuals who serve for a 3-year term. The group shares a common goal to serve others and share the love of Christ with our church and community locally and abroad through specific mission projects. The committee meets monthly.
The committee hosts a variety of activities, which include:
Parking Lot Sale - During a Saturday in October, individuals or groups within the community may rent a parking lot stall in the church parking lot to sell your "treasures." Funds raised by the stall rentals support the Missions Committee's activities.
Fresno Rescue Mission meals - Regularly, the Committee serves dinner and provides a worship service for approximately 200 homeless persons as the Fresno Rescue Mission.
Thanksgiving Fast - Usually scheduled on the weekend before Thanksgiving, everyone is encouraged to fast from Friday evening after 7pm until Sunday morning. It is a time that participants spend in prayer and meditation. Participants are asked to donate funds that would have been spent on purchasing food during the fasting weekend to benefit the Fresno Rescue Mission.
Founder's Day - Held the last Sunday in January, the Mission Committee hosts a Founder's Day Luncheon honoring a parishioner or a church group.
Assisting organizations - Budgeted funds benefit specific groups the Mission Committee recommends.
This year's beneficiaries are:
Camp AREV camperships
Armenian Tech Group
Gyumri Kindergarten
Armenian Community School
Love, Inc.
Goorabian Family Life Center Ministry
Pilgrim Missionaries
We invite any interested person to take part in any of our activities. We believe it will be a blessing for you as well as those you serve.

Other mission outreach programs include: |
| Mexico Mission: Usually each year during Holy Week – between Palm Sunday
and Easter Sunday – youth and adults travel to Mexico to conduct a
vacation Bible school. Included with this mission trip is work on a
building project to help a local church improve its facility. This
character-building event
in an underdeveloped country creates bonds of fellowship and spiritual
growth. This project is spear-headed by Azuza Pacific College.

| Family Life Center:
The purpose of the HARRY AND ZABELLE GOORABIAN FAMILY LIFE CENTER at Pilgrim Armenian Congregational church is primarily to provide recreational and spiritual growth for Armenian young people as well as for neighborhood youngsters, to strengthen family values and relationships according to Christian principles. In furtherance of that purpose, the Family Life Center will be operated in accordance with the guidelines for youth events and para-church Christian groups. |
| The Family Life Center tries to make itself available as a priority for Christian Armenian youth via sports leagues, open gym, weekday outreach events, and Sunday night youth group programs. |
| Armenian Christian adult leagues and outreach events are also included as a priority for the gym schedule. For a calendar of events and additional information for the Family Life Center, contact the church office at 559-229-2915. |
