From our constitution: “The purpose of this organization shall be to enlist Christian women in a fellowship of worship, Bible study, education, service and giving to undergird the program of Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church. We shall further strive to cultivate the spirit of Christ, beginning with our own lives and reaching out into home and community and to all parts of the world.”
The name “Dorcas” is a woman of the Bible that was resurrected because of her good deeds, always helping others especially the poor. Through our “love offerings” at our Circles and monthly meetings we are able to give donations to needy groups. Other contributions from former members or benefactors assist with additional giving.
The general membership usually meets the first Thursday of the month for a luncheon/meeting from September through June. All meetings are at the church unless otherwise stated. We currently have three Circles, which are the Bible study groups that meet once a month. Additionally, we welcome new members, any woman who subscribes to the Christian values stated above.
